Push2Heat

Full-scale demonstration of new generation heat-enhancing technologies in various industrial contexts.

Description

The PUSH2HEAT project works on the development and demonstration of waste heat revalorisation technologies in industry, revalorising heat in a temperature range of 90-160ºC. It aims to boost the market potential and business models of revalorised waste heat by fully scaling up waste heat revalorisation technologies in different industrial contexts.

Four technologies will be developed and demonstrated during the project: high temperature heat pump with piston compressors, high temperature heat pump with turbo compressors, absorption heat transformer and thermochemical heat transformer.

Objectives

  • Large-scale development of waste heat recovery technologies ensuring optimal integration into industrial processes.
  • Large-scale demonstration of industrial waste heat recovery systems.
  • Development of successful exploitation roadmaps, business models and contractual agreements for the implementation of waste heat recovery technologies.
  • Assessment of environmental and economic impacts.
  • Dissemination and awareness raising with the project.

Actions

  • Impact assessment based on extrapolation of project results from demonstration cases and replication cases at EU level, taking into account economic, technical and environmental aspects.
  • Inputs to baseline assessment and definition of monitoring needs.

Expected Results

  • Deliverable on the techno-economic and environmental impacts of PUSH2HEAT.
  • Final deliverable of the action plan for the exploitation of the PUSH2HEAT project.

R&D Line

  • Development of strategies for the recovery and valorisation of waste heat from industrial processes.
