AgriGenomics Hub

Animal and Plant Genomics Research and Plant Genomics Research Innovations Centre Project

Description

The project focuses on boosting the biogenomic activity in the agroindustry in Turkey, from the farm to the agro company, throughout knowledge, technologies and new products arising from the creation of a research and innovation centre focused in the agrogenomic study of animals and plants.

In addition, shall be created sinergies between universities/research centres, gubernamental organisations, international and turkish SMEs, on the one side, and the EU institutions and turkish decision-making responsibles, on the other side.

CARTIF participates in this project through training for the participation in international projects, as well as support in the internationalization of the R&D developed in the centre, organizing visits to spanish interest centre for the project, among other tasks.

Objectives

  • Development of thematic skills in the agrogenomic sector and increase the research and development capacities in Turkey.
  • Increase the capacity of R&D, development of products and competitivity capacity of the SMEs of the agrogenomic sector of Turkey.

Actions

  • Having an operative Agrogenomic centre and an accredited Innovation in Research in Animal and Vegetable Genomic Centre and share infrastructure for the SMEs/entrepeneurs of the sector.
  • Increase the productivity and development of products and capacities of the agrogenomics SMEs and entrepeneurs at the land.

Expected Results

  • Development of new agrofarming production systems with biologic and technologic innovations.
  • Wide agrogenomic library available and used by all the interested actors.
  • New sinergies, interactions and proposals with turkish companies and institutions with Europe in the agrogenomic field.
  • Develop strengths in the agrogenomic field.
