[PROSPECT+] Energy transition in cities
Energy transition in cities: from subsidies to innovative financing
The PROSPECT+ team is bringing together public authorities and municipal energy agencies with representatives of EU institutions and private investors to discuss the priorities, needs and challenges of cities and regions that impact on the speed of energy transformation at local level.
On 15 November, they are organising a policy dialogue webinar highlighting the results of the Prospect+ consultations on public authorities’ attitudes towards innovative financing instruments and decreasing reliance on traditional subsidies. Speakers will discuss the needs and obstacles cities face when public funding for their energy transition is limited. The team will share recommendations, postulates and success stories of projects that, despite the challenges, did not rely solely on subsidies. As part of the ongoing dialogue, representatives from EU institutions and private investors will provide an overview of support opportunities and developing initiatives.
Our colleague Miguel Angel Garcia, European project coordinator of CARTIF’s energy division, will participate as a speaker under the title “Success stories and success factors”.
