[RURBANIVE] Third plenary assembly

RURBANIVE. Third plenary assembly

During the 2nd and 3rd of April will take place in Athens (Greece) the third plenary assembly of the RURBANIVE project to which our colleagues David Olmedo and Iñaki Fernández from the Industrial and Digital Systems division will attend.

In this third assembly, the advances that have been achieved during the last months and in which CARTIF has taken part will be presented. CARTIF will present the first version of one of the four cognitive computing tools (COC-Tool#1) that will be developed throughout the project.

COC Tool#1

Its purpose is to recognise facial expressions and analyse natural language processing (NLP) in relation to a cultural landscape displayed to the user on a computer screen. COC-Tool#1 allows to analyse the reactions of these users to images of rural cultural landscapes, specifically those corresponding to the Valles Pasiegos Burgaleses, as a Spanish demonstrator. The objective is to measure and predict the affinity of individuals towards certain environments through emotion-based metrics. This tool will be used to understand why some rural landscapes are more visited than others and under what conditions, thus contributing to the promotion of cultural heritage and the planning of sustainable rural tourism.

In addition, during this meeting podcasts will also be recorded together with the researchers of the project who will answer all those questions related to the rural-urban enablers (RUE) established in the project. Our colleague Iñaki Fernández will be interviewed by CARTIF, who will talk about the RUE that we lead, the access and digital promotion of cultural and landscape heritage and that due to the importance of the developments that are being carried out, is one of the examples to be followed by the rest of the RUEs.
