Description

CARTIF provides innovative solutions for research, protection, conservation, restoration and dissemination of Heritage in its whole sense:

Cultural heritage: inheritance of our ancestors and legacy for future generations.

I. Tangible movable heritage: objects or pieces prone to musealization.
II. Tangible immovable: sites, buildings, engineering works, industrial centers, architectural ensembles,

III. typical landscapes and monuments of interest or relevant value.
IV. Intangible heritage: non-material creations.
V. Digital heritage: computer materials of lasting value worthy of being preserved for future generations.

Natural heritage: natural monuments, geological formations, places and natural landscapes.

 

 

Research Lines

  1. Development of solutions and customized studis of rural and urban regeneration based in cultural and natural heritage.
  2. Development of solutions based in multiscale image processing and multispectral and 3D data.
  3. Research in HBIM modelling and application of digital technologies for the natural and cultural heritage.
  4. Research in new techniques for the culture and intelligent tourism.
  5. Development of methodologies for the technical inspection of historic buildings and real estate.

SITEER

Currently, inspections of road and rail tunnels are carried out manually. CARTIF and Geocisa have studied how to implement technologies that allow inspecting automatically tunnels to achieve its preventive maintenance, developing a system which is able to organize the collected data.

PAVIREX

The PAVIREX project, “New safer pavements in extreme temperature conditions”, was co-financed by the Ministry of Science and Innovation and FEDER Funds, through the INNPACTO 2011 call. The consortium of the project is formed by CARTIF, Grupo Campezo, Euroestudios , Proas (Cepsa), Eiffage, the University of Oviedo and the University of the Basque Country.
