CARTIF technology centre, one of the partners of the project, holds the first General Assembly of the European SIRCULAR project on 13 and 14 November. During this meeting, some experts and collaborates met to move forward research on sustainable building solutions.

The first day was oriented towards discussing the key points about the project management. After a general introduction, the team presented the Technical Work Packages (WP) and worked together on the finalisation of the Data Management Plan. In the same way, the team responsible for WP1 held a dedicated session to gather feedback on the circularity and recyclability frameworks for sustainability. In addition, the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact of the project were also discussed.

This session included presentations on the demonstration buildings located in Spain and Estonian, highlighting their construction features, energy statistics and innovative technologies. These include a low-carbon precast façade, strategies for the reuse of wood and the design of reused elements for cold climates. Finally, the team closed the first day with an analysis of communication and dissemination activities, underlining the importance of giving visibility to the project through media such as its website.

The second day focused on the development of the SIRCULAR platform, a key tool for integrating processes such as Building Information Modelling (BIM). Discussion during this day addressed guidelines on levels of detail, formats and data requirements, laying the groundwork for defining future activities what will guide the development of this digital solutions.

This meeting marked a milestone in the development of the SIRCULAR project, reaffirming the commitment of CARTIF and its partners to lead the transition towards a more circular, efficient and environmentally friendly construction.
