TECHNOLOGICAL OFFER

Use and recovery of plastic waste through bioprocesses and studies of aereobic biodegradability of the same

Description

The globalized alert scenario for plastics consumption forces society to investigate new ways to recover, recycle and take advantage of plastic waste through more sustainable technologies.
The depolymerization of plastic waste constitutes a line of experimental research with great future prospects, and, through novel biotechnological processes, monomers from plastic waste are revalued to obtain new high-value bioproducts (precursor lipids of biodiesel and PHA) .

Our service:

  • We offer innovative solutions and design specific biotechnological transformation processes for the reuse of plastics according to the needs of the client, the available waste and the desired product.
  • Determination of the aerobic biodegradability of plastic materials in aqueous media, according to ISO 14852

Our value:

  • CARTIF carries out experimental researchs aimed at the use of plastic waste.
  • CARTIF has extensive experience in the treatment of plastics and the support of tools of Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) and Cost Analysis (CCV) to determine the technological, environmental and economic viability of a process for the recovery of plastic waste.
